Volunteer Attorney
| Description | A volunteer attorney at CAST would provide direct legal services to trafficking survivors including: a) representation in removal proceedings; b) securing release from detention; c) advocacy to protect rights as victim witnesses; d) preparation for criminal trial; e) advocacy to obtain Continued Presence and Certification as a trafficking victim to establish eligibility for refugee benefits; f) assistance in filing T-Visa, U-Visa, and VAWA applications; and g) obtaining child custody and restraining orders. The attorney would also be involved in CAST’s ongoing outreach and advocacy efforts. |
