Retail AssistantsVolunteer Retail Assistants work with staff to ensure that day to day operations at WHW's Deja New are efficient and that shoppers have an enjoyable shopping experience. This is a critical volunteer position in assisting WHW in raising funding to support the mission.Personal StylistsWHW Personal Stylists work with job seekers one on one helping them to select professional attire and accessories, assisting with fit, color choice and most importantly providing support and encouragement as they prepare for interviews and their new start at work. Personal Stylists assist job seekers with building a professional wardrobe by ensuring they select items that can create several outfits appropriate for the workplace. WHW Personal Stylists ensure that WHW job seekers look and feel empowered to attain and maintain employment success.Resume CoachesWHW Resume Coaches are individuals who have experience with the job search and/or the hiring process. These volunteers are critical to the WHW mission by assisting job seekers in developing effective resumes, identifying quantifiable results from previous employment to showcase each one as an ideal and strong candidate in the job market.Workshop FacilitatorsWHW Workshop Facilitators are vibrant individuals from the human resources department, small business owners or other career development professionals who have a talent for effectively communicating curriculum in an interactive format. Their impact on WHW clients is made in a group context as they help job seekers become knowledgeable, skilled and confident in the tasks required for today’s successful job search.Event PlanningWHW's Friends Event Planning Committee works with staff to oversee all aspects of planning and managing WHW’s annual spring event. This fundraising event supports the mission and job seekers of WHW, raises awareness of WHW’s mission and enhances WHW’s image in the community. Whether a committee member is recruiting event sponsors, providing logistical support or managing services and supplies, this is a critical role in WHW’s fund development strategy.Donation AssistantsWHW Donation Assistants, who are often the face of WHW to the hundreds of clothing donors that visit WHW every year, greet donors and receive donations while working to keep the donation facility neat and organized. These valuable volunteers contribute towards our efforts to provide stellar service to our job seekers by sorting, tagging and organizing incoming donations and stock..Host a Clothing DriveVolunteer to Host a Clothing, Accessory or Grooming Product Drive at your place of work, home, club or church to support the job seekers of WHW. Hosting a Clothing Drive is easy, fun and everyone can participate.Board of DirectorsWHW’s Board of Directors is a group of professionals who are dedicated to WHW’s long term success. Each Board member commits their time, talent and treasure to the organization. The Board members actively participate in fundraising and governance activities.Internship ProgramWHW's Internship Program is a unique opportunity offered by WHW to students involved in Service Learning. The well established curriculum has a multidisciplinary approach that, through a rotation system, integrates all areas of the non-profit organization. This structure allows the student to gain experience and first-hand knowledge of all the relevant elements involved in the operation of a non-profit organization.Administrative SupportWHW Administrative Volunteers contribute to day-to-day activities through data entry, phone calls and general office needs. They may spend the day binding workshop packets, putting together marketing and outreach materials, photo copying, word processing, scanning, faxing, making follow-up calls or assisting with educational workshops. Administrative support volunteers know their way around an office and help ensure that WHW job seekers are receiving quality support. |

Since 1993, WHW has served over 90,000 job seekers referred by over 275 partner agencies at no charge. Each year more than 8,000 job seekers participate in programs focused on making them the most marketable candidate for the job they seek. Programs include Employment Readiness Workshops, Computer Training, Job Placement Assistance and Professional Apparel. |
